From a functionality point of view, the free and portable application JavaRa focuses on Java Runtime Environment – JRE or simply Java for short. With this application you can forcefully remove Java from your PC, you can download and install Java, and you can check to see if you have the latest Java version. All this functionality is very nicely presented on the application’s simple interface.

As mentioned above, JavaRa is a portable application. This means you can use JavaRa on your Windows-powered machine without having to install anything. Download a very small archive, extract its contents, run the JavaRa executable, and that’s it. The application’s interface will show up and you will be able to easily access the functionality JavaRa has to offer.

Said functionality is very conveniently presented on the application’s interface, an interface that I found to be good looking and very easy to use. On said interface you will see four large buttons:
Update Java Runtime – check to see if you have the latest Java version; download and reinstall Java on your PC.
Remove Java Runtime – remove Java from your PC.
Update Java Definitions – download and install the latest version of the JavaRa definitions; these definitions will be used to find and remove every trace of Java.
Additional Tasks – remove Java startup entry, check the Java version, remove outdated JRE Firefox extensions, clean JRE temp files.

In the lower left hand corner of the interface there’s the Settings menu. From this menu you can choose if you want the application to automatically check for updates and you can pick one of many supported languages.

JavaRa is free software.

By using JavaRa, a free and portable application, you can very easily download and install Java, remove Java, and get rid of Java temp files.

Pros

JavaRa does not have to be installed; the application is portable. The simple and good looking interface clearly presents the functionality. Use JavaRa to deploy, update, and remove Java Runtime Environment (JRE or just Java for short). JavaRa is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
